AGORA is pleased to announce a new opportunity for those interested in affordable, sustainable, community-oriented housing: the pilot project for housing cooperatives in Belval Sud is progressing, and a dedicated workshop will soon take place.

The next workshop will be held on April 26, from 10am to 4pm, at the Luxembourg Center for Architecture (LUCA). The session will be conducted in French and English and is open to all interested individuals, whether you are part of an established cooperative or a group looking to start one. Participants will discover how the call for projects works, learn about the advantages of the cooperative model, and have the chance to exchange ideas with other committed stakeholders.

During the workshop, attendees will gain practical insights into the opportunities and benefits of cooperative housing, including self-managed affordable housing, shared decision-making processes, cooperative financing, and community living. Challenges such as the time required to establish and implement a cooperative, the complexity of collective decision-making structures, and potential tensions between individual and collective interests will also be addressed. By the end of the day, participants will have a solid understanding of the cooperative housing model and the key steps to establishing such a project in Luxembourg. .

Belval Sud, AGORA’s next innovative residential district, is designed to offer a variety of housing types with a strong focus on quality of life, sustainability, and social diversity. As part of this vision, AGORA has set aside one plot of land specifically for cooperative housing initiatives, providing a unique chance for future residents to shape their own living environment.

The workshop is free, but registration is required (places are limited).
