Agora Club Belval meeting

A get-together of around 70 managers from companies and institutions, and business people

Agora, the development company responsible for Belval, issued invitations for Club Belval on first of July, in order to discuss the latest developments at the location.

Club Belval has now become something of a tradition. Twice a year, decision-makers from companies and institutions meet here with business people to discuss current issues. The Club was brought to life 6 years ago by Agora.

The aim was and is to provide the growing number of decision-makers at Belval with regular information on the latest developments so they can pass this information on to staff or clients as multipliers. The event is also intended as an opportunity for people to make new contacts.


Agora turns 15

More than 170 guests celebrated with the development company in Belval

Yesterday, the development company Agora celebrated its fifteenth year of existence. The company was founded in 2000 to revitalise former steel industry production centres in the south of Luxembourg, including the approx. 120 hectares of the Belval site.

The reputation of the Public Private Partnership of the State of Luxembourg and the ArcelorMittal Steel Group has long extended beyond Belval, attracting a number of awards as well as international recognition for the quality of its achievements. 

The 21-strong team of urban planners, architects, engineers and marketing specialists provides all the services required to develop the location – from analysis and planning to civil engineering and development, to local marketing. As a one-stop package or as individual services.

Around 170 guests accepted the invitation to yesterday's birthday party at the foot of the blast furnace site in Belval.


Uni.lu – First "Open Day" in Belval

Agora present with its own information stand

Last Saturday saw the annual university "Open Day", which this year took place for the first on the new campus in Belval.

More than 3.000 visitors accepted the invitation to come along and find out more about the courses on offer, and all three of the university faculties presented their options. There were also guided tours of the Cité des Sciences and of the student halls of residence UniVal1 in the sub-quarter Square Mile.

As well as the municipality of Esch, the Fonds Belval, Tice, the Verkeiersverbond and many other partners, Agora, the development partner responsible for Belval, was also present with an information stand and the model of Belval.

 

 


Agora presents Belval at the MIPIM in Cannes

This year’s main topic: office real estate in the Square Mile

From 10-13 March, Agora will be providing information on the latest developments and projects at Belval on the community stand of the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce R8.D14.

The presentation by the Belval development company will focus on new office premises in the Square Mile with offices mainly for companies who are involved with the university and in research. The core element is the “Esplanade” project, a building ensemble with a very special architecture.

The international real estate trade fair MIPIM brings together everyone involved in every area of real estate – offices, residential, retailer, health, sports, logistics and industry. This year, the organisers are expecting around 2,000 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors from some 90 countries.

Project: construction of a care home in Belval

Agora opens process for declaration of interest

The development company Agora is continuing its strategy of attracting as many different yet complementary types of user to Belval as possible.

A plot of land has now been reserved in the northern area of the Square Mile quarter, close to the park and within sight of the Belval North residential area, for a care home. This is in addition to the existing CIPA care and retirement home in Belval North, and will provide accommodation for around 120 residents.

A special award procedure will be used to select the contractor and future operator. Teams of project developers, operators and investors have until 27 February 2015 to register their interest in taking part.

Agora – partnering the Red Rock Challenge again

Development company supports two-day sporting and cultural event in south Luxemburg

The second "Red Rock Challenge" is to take place on 11 and 12 October, this time under the motto of "Running, Hiking, Cycling?”. This sporting and cultural event consists of several competitions such as mountain biking, running and hiking, as well as various combinations of these individual competitions.

The course combines the main sights in the southern region, and takes participants through the nature reserves of Haard, Hesselbierg, Streebierg, Lalléngerbierg and Giele Botter.

The events all start and finish at the Lyzeum in Belval. One new addition this year is the Urban Trail, a 10-km trail that only goes through Belval.
The events are open to anyone, regardless of age and level of fitness.

Participants can enter as individuals or in teams of two or three. It is also possible to enter one event on the both days.

New brochure for Belval

Free insert in Wort, Quotidien and Télécran, and available to download

Agora edit a new French-language image brochure for Belval on 17 June.

It will consist of around 20 pages on every facet of the new city quarters, such as living, working, learning, research, studying and leisure time. A map in the middle of the brochure will provide plenty of information on completed buildings and projects that are still underway, on how to get here and parking options, and on public transport connections.

The A5 brochure will be included as a free insert in Télécran, Wort and Le Quotidien.

Agora supporting FIABCI World Conference

1500 real estate specialists expected

The 65th world conference of real estate association FIABCI is to take place in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg this year. From 17-22 May, international experts will be discussing the full bandwidth of the real estate industry.

The development company Agora is one of four Gold sponsors who help to make this event possible, and thereby also help to spread the name of the Grand-Duchy and its major urban conversion project Belval throughout the world.

Agora is particular pleased about the choice of the Rockhal in Belval as the venue for the "Prix d’excellence Dinner", to which 1000 high-ranking guests have been invited.

Club Belval meeting in ADEM building

Around 50 managers from companies, institutions, research centres and business people met for the 2nd Club Belval this year

Agora had issued the invitation in order to discuss the current developments on Belval, and in particular the construction progress in the Square Mile.

After a welcome by the ADEM management and presentation by Agora, there was ample opportunity for exchanges during the walking dinner that followed.
